How to Import a GoDaddy Domain

Bring Your GoDaddy Domain to LinkHaven

You'll keep the domain at GoDaddy — you're just pointing its nameservers at LinkHaven. One change, and everything else (SSL, www, your bare domain) is automatic.

Step 1: Start the Connection in LinkHaven

  1. From your dashboard, click Import a Domain.
  2. Type your full domain (like yourname.com) and click Connect domain.
  3. LinkHaven shows you two nameservers. Keep this window open — you'll copy them next.

Step 2: Change the Nameservers at GoDaddy

  1. In a new tab, log in to GoDaddy and open your Domain Portfolio.
  2. Click your domain, then find Nameservers (on the DNS page) and click Change Nameservers.
  3. Choose "I'll use my own nameservers".
  4. Paste LinkHaven's two nameservers — one per field — and remove any others.
  5. Save. GoDaddy may warn you that changing nameservers affects your settings — that's expected; confirm.

Don't add any DNS records — no CNAME, no TXT. The nameserver change replaces all of that, and any old records at GoDaddy simply stop mattering.

Step 3: Wait for It to Connect

Back in LinkHaven, your domain shows Pending connection. Nameserver changes usually take effect in 5 minutes to 1 hour (rarely up to 48 hours). When it flips to Connected — your site is live, you're done — try your domain in a private browser window.

If GoDaddy Won't Let You Change Nameservers

Very new domains or domains mid-transfer can be temporarily locked. If GoDaddy blocks the change, click "Can't change your nameservers? Connect with DNS records instead" in the LinkHaven connect window and follow the records shown.
