Auto-Renew Keeps Your Domain From Expiring

Auto-renew makes sure your domain renews itself before its expiration date — so you don't have to remember a yearly chore. It's on by default for any domain you buy through LinkHaven, and you can toggle it off (or back on) at any time.

How It Works

When auto-renew is on, your registrar automatically renews the domain shortly before its expiration date. The renewal price is shown on your domain card so there are no surprises, and you don't have to do anything to trigger it.

Where to Find the Toggle

Open your dashboard and find the domain card under Custom Domains. You'll see an Auto-renew label with a status pill — green when it's on; gray, amber, or red when it's off (the color shifts more urgent as your expiration date gets closer).

Click the toggle to flip it. There's no separate save step.

Turning Auto-Renew Off

Flipping auto-renew from on to off shows a quick confirmation prompt — just to make sure you meant to. Once you confirm, we'll stop charging for automatic renewals. The domain stays active until its current expiration date, then it lapses unless you renew manually before that. We'll send email reminders as the date approaches.

Turning Auto-Renew Back On

Turning auto-renew back on is instant — one click flips it, no confirmation needed. We'll resume the automatic renewal cycle for the next expiration.

What Auto-Renew Doesn't Do

Auto-renew handles the renewal payment, not the LinkHaven subscription. Your monthly LinkHaven plan and your domain renewal are separate charges.

When to Leave It Off

Most customers leave it on. If you're winding down a domain and don't plan to keep it past the current term, turning it off lets the domain lapse naturally without an extra charge.
